What surprises me is the fact that the cigarette's advertisements in Indonesia are actually aimed at the youngsters (even those below the legal age). This was indeed revealed by one of the ex-worker of Philip Morris that used to work for the advertisement department. So in some sense, the companies know that targeting the adults are by no means useless as they are either addicted to it or they have no interest at cigarette at all. Instead, they target the youngsters, as a form of investment, infiltrating the culture and the society, so that when they grow up, smoking becomes something normal in the society. In this way, they actually assured that they will be able to survive in Indonesia in the long term.
But then, what should we do? Millions of Indonesian make their ends meet from this industry and yet we know that it kills people slowly. This is a very sad fact of life.
Addiction is something that is very hard to get off from. True story, I am a fan of IU now, I am so addicted to her voice and her songs...and now... life seems to be very boring without listening to IU's songs... So you know what I am going to do: I am going to listen to her songs until I am bored with them, and that's the end of it! yay!
Anyway, here's the documentary I was talking about:
Also, I want to wish everyone a very happy Chinese New Year! Wish all of you (including me) all the best for the coming year! [in particular: for my exam tomorrow.]. I also hope that I can find an internship position (preferably in physics) soon. Going to start searching for it this Monday.
It's a very rare occasion for me to say this here, but I would like to wish that all of you to be happy and have an enjoyable life for the coming years! Remember that happiness is a choice. You (yes, you yourself) are the only responsible for your own happiness.
